GAMMA 1 GAUGE
Gamma 1 is a "smart" gauge with superior measurement accuracy that can easily connect to an existing plant floors supervisory control system.
Gamma 1™ measures products such as blown film, paper, plastic rubber and textiles from one side only. Its solid state technology is a revolutionary departure from ordinary backscatter gauges: there are no photo multiplier tubes, no high voltages and no complicated control loops.
Gamma 1 combines ATI's solid state detector technology with an onboard microprocessor to enhance measurement capability and allow direct gauge connection to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or distributed control systems (DCSs). The onboard microprocessor converts the counts to weight, stores product recipes and calibrations and eliminates the need for a dedicated host computer. Gamma 1 has an industry standard communications link to make gauge information readily available to the customers control system. It can also output data into an FFT routine.
For safety, the Gamma I provides an integral shutter with a fail-safe design and built-in safety check monitor. The onboard microprocessor tracks federally mandated maintenance procedures to stay in compliance and automatically shutters the radiation source when the sensor is not in use.
